Do you love variety, teamwork, and interacting with guests? During this apprenticeship, you’ll learn how to serve food and drinks with style, provide support at events, and offer exceptional service – especially when things get busy. The world of gastronomy is yours to experience!

Job description

What you’ll be doing:

  • Learning about and experiencing various roles at the hotel
  • Accepting goods and managing stock
  • Working in the kitchen, production, and catering
  • Working in service and at the bar
  • Leading sales conversations and preparing offers
  • Setting up and maintaining guest areas
  • Gaining knowledge of food and beverages
  • Operating reservation and POS systems
  • Planning and coordinating service processes
  • Carrying out service tasks at the guest table (e.g. flambéing, filleting, carving)
  • Designing, organising, and managing events, conferences, and banquets

The additional qualification “Bar and Wine” lets you expand your knowledge over the course of 8 weeks.

Example topics in the “Bar” module
– Recipes, glassware, and calculations for various long drinks, cocktails, or spirits
– General bar operations

Example topics in the “Wine” module
– Knowledge of wine-growing regions, grape varieties, production methods, glasses, wine service, and product categories

After completing your apprenticeship, you’ll already have sound knowledge in this area and be ready to start working in your dream specialisation.

Apprenticeship programme

  • 1st year
    Restaurant LUMI (26 weeks) | Spa bistro (8 weeks)
  • 2nd year
    Restaurant LUMI (10 weeks) | Bar NOX (10 weeks) | Kitchen (14 weeks)
  • 3rd year
    Banquet (10 weeks) | Sales (10 weeks) | Restaurant LUMI (10 weeks)

Duration: 3 years
The duration of the apprenticeship may be reduced under certain conditions (e.g. if you have a high school diploma or achieve outstanding results in school and at work).

For the additional qualification “Bar & Wine”3rd year: Banquet (6 weeks) | Sales (10 weeks) | Restaurant LUMI (6 weeks) | Sommelier (4 weeks)

What can you do once you’ve completed your apprenticeship?
You’ll make your career in the restaurant. Hotel, trendy venue, or restaurant chain – there are exciting opportunities across the industry. After your apprenticeship, you’ll have many opportunities to progress – including here with us at Seezeitlodge.
Thanks to the reorganisation of the profession, you’ll also have the opportunity to work in event catering. From weddings and birthdays to conferences, all doors are open. Of course, you could also open your own restaurant, pursue further studies, or gain international experience. If you’re passionate about wine, further training to become a sommelier is a great option.
